Calling all new moms! We love your post-partum body because it represents the beautiful creation you brought into the world. It might be daunting getting back into routine and working on your post-pregnancy body, so we have put together the perfect toning starter pack to get back in shape after having your little one, whenever you feel ready.
Eat Often
Maintaining a healthy relationship with food is the key to stronger muscles and a healthier, more toned body. Often people think that if they stop eating they will lose weight, however the opposite will occur. If you do not eat for a prolonged period of time, the calories you intake will no longer be used as usable energy and will be stored as fat, leading to weight gain, which will cover those abs you have worked so hard for. Are you afraid you won’t have the time to work out and cook? Well, with Slendertone toning belts you can do both at the same time. Convenient right?

‘After pregnancy this was a great way to strengthen my abs. It's not easy learning to use your abs again post-partum and I'm so thankful for Slendertone helping me achieve my goals!’
Eat the Right Food
It is important to maintain a diet rich in lean protein, dietary fiber and fat burning foods to aid your toning journey. Chicken breast, lentils, beans and mushrooms are high in lean protein and will help repair and rebuild muscles after pregnancy. Dietary fiber is found in peaches, apples, broccoli and green peas. Dietary fiber aids in weight loss as it is more filling than low-fiber foods, so you’re likely to stay satisfied for longer. Fat burning foods, like grapefruits, brown rice, and dark chocolate (in moderation, of course) should be consumed to help burn calories. Don’t forget, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so make sure you’re eating something tasty yet healthy. How does cherry muesli or apple and cinnamon oats sound?
Incorporate your Slendertone
After pregnancy, strenuous exercise should be avoided. That is why our favorite way to stay toned is with Slendertone, which is great for firming tummy muscles after giving birth. Whether you’re cooking your favorite meal or chilling in the evening time, you can tone with Slendertone to make sure you achieve your toning goals. It is important to wait six weeks after natural childbirth or three months after a caesarean section before using a Slendertone belt, to make sure all scar tissue is fully healed.

“I’m a very busy mom, so Slendertone was perfect for me! I could do it any time I wanted and it’s only 30 minutes per day. Love it!”
Drink Water
Often people eat because they think they are hungry, when in fact they are actually thirsty. Drinking at least 2-3 liters of water per day can prevent dehydration and bloating. Try adding fresh fruit to your water or get your daily water intake though smoothies or vegetable juices to make sure you stay hydrated. Maintaining a low body fat percentage is key to seeing those toned abs, and staying hydrated will help!
Exercise
It is encouraged to start with gentle exercises after pregnancy and birth, such as walking. Need a break from nappy changes and crying? A nice stroll around the park sounds lovely, doesn’t it? You can even include your Slendertone in your walks. Programs 11 & 12 on Evolve Abs are active programs, so you can tone while carrying out light exercises like walking. It is best to check with your doctor before starting exercise and using Slendertone post-partum.

“My abs have become more defined and more toned. So easy to use and so convenient. For a busy mom of 3 Slendertone is a life saver for me, I don’t have time for gyms.”
Reduce Stress
Stress can have a negative impact on your body. When you are stressed your glucose levels are increased which increases hunger and you may be tempted to snack on empty calorie foods. This can lead to fat deposition in the abdominal area. Reducing stress and participating in calming activities like yoga, and meditation or reading is a brilliant way to maintain those toned abs.
