Summer Smoothie Recipe

Sun’s out, smoothies out! A great addition to your breakfast, smoothies provide power-packed start to the day. We have a super easy, healthy and tasty smoothie recipe with complex carbs, healthy fats and protein which helps to subdue food cravings. Having smoothies along with breakfast is also great way to stay hydrated during the summer - an all-round healthy snack!

Complex Carbohydrates

Complex carbs pack in more nutrients than simple carbs. They’re also higher in fibre and digest more slowly. This makes them more filling, which means they're a good option for weight control.

2 Handfuls of frozen summer berries or forest fruits:

  • Raspberries
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Mango

Healthy Fats

Healthy fats provide energy, support cell growth, protect organs, and keep your body warm. Healthy fats lower the risks of heart disease, stroke and even helps to lower blood pressure.

  • 1 dessertspoon Milled Flaxseed
  • 1/4 Avocado

Protein

Protein is one of the three major nutrients, along with carbohydrates and fat, in our diets. Protein helps to build your muscles, boost the immune system and also help you feel fuller for longer.

  • 40g of full-fat natural yoghurt
  • 100ml of Milk / Coconut Water

Directions

Blend the fruit, avocado yogurt and Milk/Coconut Water until smooth until you achieve the consistency you like. Pour into a glass and mix in your 1 dessertspoon of Milled Flaxseed and Enjoy!
